We are Butterflies

I was sitting with my son, Daniel, in the Sun Garden at Pecorama, Devon and his behaviour had been particularly challenging that afternoon. As a butterfly landed on the huge, golden orb in front of us I was struck by its beauty and fragility and the overlaps with some of our son’s qualities; fragile and vulnerable in many ways. I noted down a few phrases, which I took to my keyboard the next day and while Dan was content to play beside me I wrote and sang the first verse to him. I’ve been through my own metamorphosis in recent months and so the second verse became my own.
